Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Monaco star Marcel Tisserand.
According to the Mirror, the defender was being chased by Espanyol but the player wants to wait and see if the Gunners make a bid.
Tisserand, 23, can play at centre-back and right-back but has not been able to hold down a first-team spot at Monaco.
The Congolese international has been sent out on loan to Lens and Toulouse in previous seasons.
The Gunners are going through a defensive crisis with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel out injured.
Arsene Wenger also seems to be cooling his interest in Shkodran Mustafi as the German international has a £50million buy-out clause in his contract at Valencia.
And West Brom are demanding no less than £25m for Jonny Evans.
